I closed my eyes to get some sleep before tonight's work which is Black Friday.
As I was sound asleep I heard people talking
Mom: Hey Be Lan is here
Lan: Hi Chi
I sat up and turned around and there she was the little girl last I've seen 17 years ago haven't changed, doesn't look grown one bit.
Me: Hold on let me wash my face.
I walked quickly to the bathroom as she follows me in excitement of seeing me again she sat outside as I was in there washing my face.
Lan: I miss you Chi.
Me: How did you get here?
Lan: My mom saved up some money and finally sent me here.
Me: How are you living, work and school or what?
Lan: I go to work. I actually start work tomorrow night. Can we hang tonight?
Me: No, I wish I can but I can't. I have work tonight gonna be very busy.
So we sat and talked for a long while. Then a bunch a friends and co workers came by to pick me up to go eat. Lan and I, said bye as tears brought to our eyes. We swore to meet again tomorrow. I went to go eat with my friends, it was dark out and as we sat there and ate it was an outdoor restaurant. We were probably out for about 2 or 3 hours. I sat there and just looking at my friends as we talked. Then suddenly saw from a distance there she was Lan standing by the motorcycle. I looked back at her and she was gone. Then suddenly where she was standing the motorcycle caught on fire.
Me: Everyone! Move! Get down!
As i yelled that all my friends ducked down the motorcycle exploded but thanks to me calling no one was hurt. I couldn't explain what I saw so I sat there confused, my friends all went home and one had to take me back to his place to pick up something for work. His mom opened the door and welcomed us in as I sat down on the couch still wondering what I had saw. I slowly dozed off.
There she was Lan and my 2 old friends playing pillow fight. And Lan slowly falling to the ground as she was whizzing... she always had asthma... I yelled get her inhaler get her inhaler but no one was near her or heard me and then I felt someone touch my hand. My friend woke me up.
Friend: Are you OK? Nightmare? You fell asleep.
I looked around and wiped the sweat off my face and said
Me: yeah... I'm ok. Can you do me a favor?
Friend: yeah.
Me: Can I used your phone? My phones dead.
I picked up the phone and called her family.
Lan's family in tears...
Lan's family: She passed away last night with an asthma attack.
I fell back down to the couch and started crying... thinking its all my fault... if i was there she wouldn't of died...
Friend: Well, we have to go see the rest of the crew before we go into work. Unless you want me to drop you off... I'm sorry for your lost...
I looked at him disdained and nodded. We got to the place and I sat down. Jasmine sat next to me as she comfort me knowing what had happened.
Jasmine: Can I help you little girl?
I looked up and there she was Lan wrapped up in a red blanket standing in front of me looking at me.
Me: It's OK... that's Lan...
Jasmine freaked out and stood up fast as she backed up away from Lan moving closer to me.
Lan flew over to me with a sad face tears coming down her face as she hugs me and slowly move her hands to my neck and started choking me. I closed my eyes and took it as she picked me up by the neck and threw me to the wall. I picked myself up and looked at her in tears.
Me: Lan... I'm so sorry...
As I look at her she slowly flew to the door as I followed her... to the streets with largetraffic incoming. I stared at the street as I felt those cold little hands hold on to mine. She walked to the street as cars drove right through her.
Lan: Chi, I don't wanna be alone.
I smiled at her
Me: You won't ever be alone...
And I stepped into the streets as I felt something hit me..
I woke up...
